A neuropsychological evaluation is an assessment of the brain’s strengths and weaknesses. We evaluate adolescents and adults.
A number of areas in the brain can be evaluated such as intelligence, academic skills, executive functioning (planning and abstract thinking), attention, motivation, motor and sensory skills, language, memory, mood, and personality styles. We offer comprehensive evaluations to help clarify complex problems and how to treat them. Some of the reasons individuals seek a neuropsychological evaluation is due to needing accommodations due to academic struggles, learning difficulties, ADHD, memory problems, poor focus and concentration, inattentiveness, language difficulties, and traumatic brain injury to name a few.
We take a collaborative approach in providing attorneys with psycholegal reports and opinions that are legally defensible.
We offer psychological expertise and testimony for juveniles and adults in the following areas: Competency to stand trial, mentally disordered offender evaluations (MDO, PC 2960), Malingering, PTSD, Trauma, Pre-Trial & sentencing evaluations (mitigating & aggravating factors), violence risk assessment, learning disabilities, and neuropsychological (brain injury).
This type of evaluation can rule out diagnoses that seem similar. It also helps your providers in treatment planning.
Diagnostic Clarification Evaluation
You will be seen for an hour long diagnostic interview as well as given a variety of questionnaires to complete via the iPad or paper/pencil. We will take a deep dive into your history to gather medical, mental health, family information. With your consent, we will make contact with your treatment providers and/or family members to collect additional collateral information that would be helpful in understanding you! We then review your test results and write a report with exceptional recommendations. Last, we will review results with you in a follow up session.
